The application consists of three conceptual pieces: milestones, metrics, and objectives.
Features
The BVF Utility consists of: Three Smart Services
- Record Milestone - easily save “snapshots” of data
- Delete Metric
- Rebuild Metric Data

1.0.3
[MIGRATED] This application is designed to help customers track the value that Appian provides their business. The application is designed to be “dropped into” an application during Sprint 0, to begin gathering and reporting on data across one or multiple applications. The application consists of three conceptual pieces: milestones, metrics, and objectives.
Milestones
Milestones will take the form of a Smart Service node to be dropped into different process models. In these nodes, designers have the ability to gather data about that particular time in the process model’s lifespan. Think of these milestones as snapshots of all the data at a given time.
Metrics
Metrics use the data captured in milestones to report on progress. Metrics are created through an Appian action, and are built around existing Milestones. There are two types of metrics, duration metrics and quantity metrics.
Duration Metrics
Durations metrics measure the duration between two milestone.
Examples:
- How long did it take to get from one milestone in a process to another milestone in the same or a different process?
- How long did it take to process this request?
- How long did it take to onboard this employee?
Quantity Metrics
Quantity metrics capture a count of something at a given milestone.
Examples:
- How many times did something occur?
- How many employees were hired this month?
- How many certifications were approved?
